The department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, possibly to commence in January 2012. The department welcomes applications from candidates who are trained in the area of American national government, with a specialization in public law (e.g., constitutional law, civil liberties, race and law). Moreover, candidates should be able to develop and teach courses in the fields of American politics (in one or more of these areas: the Presidency, Congress, Political Parties and Elections, the Media and Politics), and, Research Methodology. The successful candidate must show evidence of professional and scholarly activity, potential for future growth, as well as a strong commitment to service in keeping with Morehouse College standards.
