Dean of Students: — Position Open Until Filled
Summary: Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Dean of Students serves as a resource for Allen University students and works to develop a campus climate that fosters student success, student well-being, and learning and development. The Dean of Students provides leadership and oversight for Student Conduct, Residential Life and Services, and Student Life. The Dean of Students also oversees the behavioral concerns process, a case management system that enables Allen University to assist and hold accountable students who are experiencing psychological and behavioral issues. The Dean of Students works closely on a variety of student issues with faculty, academic leaders and others across the University; and assist the Vice President for Student Affairs in developing and implementing strategic plans and special projects for the division of Student Affairs.
Work Schedule : This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours as deemed necessary.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs administration, counseling, or a related field; supplemented with seven (7) years of progressively more responsible student affairs administration experience. Experience working with diverse groups and serving a diverse population of students. Demonstrated commitment to collaboration between Student Affairs and the University’s academic units, as well as with Enrollment Management.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, or a related field. Previous experience working with student conduct, student health, counseling, campus recreation, wellness, and crisis response. Demonstrated leadership with the student affairs profession (i.e., service to professional association, scholarship, etc.).
