SYSTEMS COORDINATOR, TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY, NASHVILLE, TN
Monitors and maintains Network Addressing for multiple LANs/WANs and makes recommendations on network addressing schemes as needed. Sets up and maintains Domain Name Services (DNS) for multiple LANs/WANs and makes recommendations on network naming schemes as needed. Sets up communication equipment to support data networking, troubleshoots equipment, and makes recommendation on new equipment as needed. Sets up new systems, configures peripherals, diagnoses and solves problems as needed. Installs and administers Microsoft Windows Operating Systems in an Active Directory Domain. Installs new hardware, diagnoses and resolves problems on-site if possible, coordinates outside repair if needed. Implements software and procedures to detect and combat computer viruses, spy-ware, spam, and mal-ware. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requires an Associates Degree in Information Systems or related field is required. A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in network/server/computer support is required. Knowledge of virtual computing service such as Citrix and VMware, security of networks, personal computers, servers, network equipment and software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to consult with users at all levels of knowledge; ability to interact with a diverse group of users and managers.
