JOB DESCRIPTION: The Grants Administrator/Pre-Award in the Office of Sponsored Programs will conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to federal, state and private corporation and foundation sources.

Identify, review and disseminate information to faculty and staff regarding external funding opportunities within the federal and state government, and private corporations and foundations;

Prepare RFP analysis to assists grant applicants in the preparation of competitive grant applications;

Prepare electronic grant application packets and upload all requirement documents.

Assist with selection and coordination of university grant teams;

Assist in the preparation of grant applications by providing technical assistance in budget preparation and editorial;

Review, evaluate, proofread and edit grant proposals prior to submission for funding to ensure grammatical accuracy, completeness, clarity and consistency in style and presentation, and adherence to grant guidelines and requirements;

Edit grant applications for accuracy, completeness and clarity and submittal of all applications in a timely manner in accordance with grant requirements;

Assist faculty with application procedures, electronic and paper, to ensure applications are submitted in a timely manner in accordance with grant requirements.

Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting and assist with identifying for the InfoEd and FileMaker tracking systems based on specific informational fields used by various offices at the University;

Assist with the promotion of grant application development and submission through workshops and presentations for external funding and provide one?on?one proposal assistance to faculty;

Assist with the development, conduct and maintain a training program on SPIN and government funding opportunities databases for faculty and staff;

Assist in the preparation of reports on external funding as required by the University, state, federal and private entities;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree and business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience is required.

Experience with submitting grant applications electronically

Available to work some nights and weekends.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the principles and procedures involved in obtaining grant funds from various federal, state and private sources.

Knowledge of grant regulations, policies and guidelines and of pertinent laws and program funding policies.

Knowledge of the principles and procedures involved in obtaining grant funds from various federal ,state and local sources.

Knowledge of basic grantsmanship techniques and strategies.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with grant recipients and with federal, state and local agencies. Ability to identify potential sources of funds.

Extensive knowledge of the mechanics of grant application guidelines, grant terminology, proposal preparation, coordination and submission to federal,state and private foundations.

Ability to analyze a RFP, RFA, grant solicitation.

Knowledge of the various electronic Research Administration (eRA) systems (i.e., NSF Fastlane, NIH eRA Commons, NASA NSPIRES, US Department of Education GS, etc.) and the ability to submit and manage grants electronically.

Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations (Uniform Guidance, OMB Circulars, Terms and Conditions).

Ability to meet deadlines.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
