Testing Requirements:
Illustrative Examples of Work: The successful candidate will:
– teach 3-4 classes per semester;
– teach 2-3 course preparations per semester;
– serve on college-wide committees and complete special projects as requested;
– advise students on course planning, career opportunities and goals, successful matriculation and success beyond ASU, administrative requirements, ASU resource opportunities, and progression toward graduation;
– mentor and coach advisees in support of developing the required expertise needed to gain professional employment and/or be accepted to graduate school; build lasting relationship; and navigate an organization’s formal and informal structures;
– monitor students enrolled and not enrolled on courses being taught; and
– prepare an annual faculty evaluation portfolio of accomplishments in the above areas including documentation of student learning outcomes for assigned courses and learning objectives.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Delaware State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant /Associate Professors in Mathematics starting in the Fall of 2017.

A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required.  Areas of applied mathematics, or algebra is preferred. . In addition to possessing excellent communication skills, the candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach both graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to undertake research with DSU colleagues in federal or state funded research projects. He or she will have a proven research/teaching capability in their area of specialization and be able to teach successfully lower and intermediate level courses in mathematics. As a successful candidate and a new faculty member, he/she will work in an exciting environment that encourages collaborative and multi-disciplinary approaches to expand and strengthen the department research goals. Supervision of graduate students is required.

Delaware State University, located in Central Delaware, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position beginning mid-August 2017.  Candidates who are dedicated to excellence in undergraduate teaching with strong backgrounds in both anatomy & physiology (with a focus in Anatomy) are encouraged to apply.  The primary teaching responsibilities for the position are Anatomy and Physiology (Nursing majors), Human Anatomy, Histology and other courses in the candidate’s area of interest. Candidates will be expected to develop a program of research that incorporates undergraduate students.

A minimum teaching load of 12 contact hours for each semester is the typical teaching requirement. The successful applicant is expected to establish a research program and mentor undergraduate research students.  Research collaborations are encouraged within and outside of the department and/or institution.

The Department of Biology is committed to excellence in teaching at multiple levels, including courses in cellular and molecular biology, microbiology and neuroscience.  The department is staffed with seventeen Ph.D.-level, full-time tenure-track faculty members, an M.S.-level laboratory coordinator/instructor.  Currently, the department has approximately 200 undergraduate biology majors; the department also serves students in the Colleges of Nursing and Health Professions, and Agriculture and Related Sciences.
