Application Analyst–JOHNSON C. SMITH UNIVERSITY (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Responsibilities: Serves as the project leader for process improvement initiatives in and between Enrollment Services and Student Accounts; provides process definition, problem identification, solution development and workflow process monitoring for key business systems. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems and user needs; validates and documents requirements, and formulates processes to support overall business strategies. Develops reporting tools for business office and financial aid processes; coordinates business systems interfaces between the IT Department, Business Office and Enrollment Services. Writes and updates SQL programming scripts (stored procedures, triggers, etc.); designs, develops, debugs, maintains, and documents computer applications; installs software, upgrades and migrations and performs other duties as needed to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and two to three years experience in a networked environment are required. Other requirements include 3-5 years experience with SQL programming, a working knowledge of .NET programming; proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, C++, Sybase, and Microsoft Access; in-depth experience supporting Jenzabar ERP and PowerFaids, and expert knowledge of windows applications. Reporting software experience is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle confidential information. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
