Office of Student Financial Aid

The Office of Student Financial Aid is accepting resumes for a full-time, regular, exempt position with full benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities: Counsel students, parents, and university community on all financial aid matters; review and evaluate financial aid applicants to determine eligibility, completeness and accuracy as well as make awards; conduct financial aid workshops for campus visitors, general public, and university community as assigned; attend meetings, seminars, and workshops as assigned; perform all functions related to various state scholarship programs ( i.e. Maryland State Scholarships, DC Incentive Grant, Eastern Shore Tuition Assistance, etc.) to include evaluation and review, awarding and reconciliation. Reconciliation should be performed on a monthly basis; assist the Federal Work-study Coordinator in the administration of the Federal Work-study Program; develop written policies and procedures for various federal, state, and institutional programs as assigned to include frequent and regular review of all federal, state, and institutional regulatory announcements, revisions, publications, etc.; and prepare written correspondence in response to inquiries from faculty, staff, student, parents, and general public. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Three years experience in financial aid and/or student services related field required. Experience with student administration software systems (PeopleSoft preferred). Must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs required. Must have excellent analytical problem solving skills. Must be multi-task oriented. Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word products. Must be capable of working in a team environment as well as independently. Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Work products.
