Collection Management Librarian (Job Announcement) NCCU School of Law

This is an EPA (exempt from the state personnel act) position.

The collection management librarian reports to the law librarian for access and technical services and works closely with the school library. S/he will coordinate the updating of print and microfilm/microfiche materials; coordinate the process of getting newly purchased items properly shelved and maintain a regular shelf count to aid in keeping inventory. S/he is responsible for knowing when a shift of the collection is necessary to accommodate growth and for coordinating any such shift, including keeping track of necessary signage changes and maintenance of statistics of all coordinated work. Position requires management of the work of support staff, service at the circulation desk and evening and weekend hours.

Commitment to diversity and inclusion in fulfillment of the missions of the university, law school and law library; excellent written and oral communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities are essential. Candidate must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, finger pages and carry out repetitive motions associated with the maintenance of library stacks.Training and Experience:

Candidate must have an MLS or MSLS from an ALA accredited institution, previous experience working with the public and two or more years of supervisory experience. Candidate must have experience in providing quality customer service, familiarity with issues and trends in access and delivery services, experience managing a large library collection and experience using an integrated library system.
